18 e Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.ġ9 My brothers, f if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone g brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering h will save his soul from death and i will cover a multitude of sins. 2 17 Elijah was a man b with a nature like ours, and c he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for d three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. a The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. 16 Therefore, y confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, z that you may be healed. And x if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, w anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. Is anyone cheerful? Let him v sing praise. You have heard of r the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen s the purpose of the Lord, how t the Lord is compassionate and merciful.ġ2 But above all, my brothers, u do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.ġ3 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. 11 Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. 10 As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take q the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, n so that you may not be judged behold, o the Judge is standing p at the door. 2 The virgin of Israel is fallen she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land there is none to raise her up. l Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord m is at hand. You have fattened your hearts in h a day of slaughter. 5 f You have lived on the earth in luxury and g in self-indulgence. 4 Behold, c the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and d the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of e the Lord of hosts. a You have laid up treasure b in the last days. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. 2 z Your riches have rotted and z your garments are moth-eaten. 5 Come now, x you rich, weep and howl for the y miseries that are coming upon you.
